Go to wikipedia.

What do I know personally? Just that they're a very old tribe -- they were around when the mysterious and now extinct Anasazi were around in the same area as today. They're peaceful, aside from some idiot Navajo cowboys not taking proper care of mules and donkeys (see peaceful valley donkey rescue society) -- but then some cowboys are idiots no matter what ethnic background they have, ya know.

They also have a great tradition of gorgeous pottery work, bead work and designs. I have several works myself :)

I know that the Native Americans of the Great Plains are considered by military historians to have been the greatest light cavalry in history, once the horse was introduced to therm.

There are also military historians who feel that the natives of the Eastern Woodlands to have been the greatest light infantry in history.

The Navajo? What little I know of them is that they were--and are--very artistic and terrific craftsmen and craftswomen.

I really wonder if, in the grand scheme of things, artisans don't really contribute more to the world in general.

Navajo's served a very very important part in WWII. They were also called 'wind talkers' by many soldiers. Their language was so unique, it couldn't be decoded by the Germans/Japanese during the entire war and allowed the Americans to plan their attacks across the globe.
