cos they regret being teachers or they never really wanted to be teachers, it just happened, they don't like what they do and most of them probably can't stand children so they use arrogance as a defense...we can't always blame the children, after all is a job that demands lots of patience and anyone who decides on becoming a teacher needs to know that, there are a lot of teachers out there who have all the qualifications a teacher needs, but there also many who haven't...

How old is your son? Do you find it acceptable for your son to badmouth his teacher? Do you think he's smarter than his teacher such that he could take the teacher's place?
I've gotta hand it to the teachers. They earn less money in one year than they spent to become a teacher. Some use their personal money to buy supplies that aren't covered in the school budget.
As if that weren't bad enough in and of itself, they have to teach/babysit some mouthy, ignorant, snot nosed turds and the parents too. The apples don't fall far from the trees.

Tell him to wait until he gets to college. Then he will know what stupid and arrogant teachers are really like.

They have been teaching too long and are now disillusioned or just bored with teaching, but have been in school their whole life and don't know what else to do so just stay and teach. I think when they reach that time when they no longer love to teach they should have a career change and it should not involve impressionable Young minds

Why is your son asking so many inflammatory questions about teachers? Are you, or your son, even in school or do you just have some sick, twisted obsession with those in this profession?

thats why they are teachers, they wanted the power to control and upset people who are smaller, they must have had a bad experience as children.
Tell him not all are though, some are the nicest friendliest and smartest people he could ever meet.
