I have a year old female leopard gecko. She has been healthy since i got her, until the past two months or so. She has lost her appetite, and her tail is thinning. She's also not as active as she used to be. I know it isnt impaction from the substate in her habitat thats making her not want to eat, bc she has always been fed in a box outside of her home. she also has calcium powder in her habitat, and i dont believe her calcium is low either. she just hasnt eaten. i tried changing her diat, but she shows no interest in her food at all. could it be breeding season for her? if so, what do i do? i've heard that a female can become very sick if they dont lay eggs bc they will build up too much calcium. i'm really worried about her. what could it be? and what should i do? i really appreciate any help!

Okay, I had a gecko that did the same thing. Some one told me to put him in extremely shallow water for a few minutes to loosen his digestive system. That could be the problem.

I don't really know much about geckos but it sounds to me like she is sick. I'm not sure though. It's just that I've never heard of an animal not eat because it's mating season for them. I think you should ask a vet.
