Do most people put up Christmas tree before Thanksgiving or after? I have always done it the weekend after Thanksgiving but my new boyfriend says he would like to put it up before Thanksgiving...any opinions...please?

i think it's a matter of personal preference... we've always made it a family tradition to decorate for Christmas the weekend after Thanksgiving... It just wouldn't seem right to have the tree already up when you sit down to eat Thanksgiving dinner... or at least for me anyway. good luck!

Our Family tradition has always been to decorate for Christmas immediately after Thanksgiving. And take them down by New Years Eve.

in my opinion christmas decorations shouldn't be put up before thanksgiving...but, my family puts up all of our decorations within the first two days after (have to shop on black friday so we can't do a whole lot then! lol)...if you have an earlier thanksgiving lunch/dinner maybe yall could compromise and put it up late that day? but i guess that would only work if you have an artificial tree...

Christmas, is such a happy time all over the world, and my house doesn't seem 2 be as inviting, without the decorations up.. so i always put the tree up about the end of the second week in Nov.. and it comes down the last of the 1st week in Jan.. love it : )

I am a Christmas NUT, so I put it up the morning after. It is our tradition. I have heard of both, though. I am just usually SO busy baking for Thanksgiving. But if that makes your b-f happy, go for it! Nothin's better than making our man happy!

It's tradition in our family to put up the tree the week before thanksgiving... on my mom's bday :-)

I would have to say about 9 pm on December 24th. Course, I have 4 kittens, that might explain my feelings on the matter, three hours is about as long as I can defend the tree from the kitty's with a single water bottle,

After Thanksgiving, unless you have an artificial tree, then it doesn't matter.

well in my family we put up the X-mas tree on thanksgiving day.while the food is being cooked by some, the tree is being set up by others.and the whole family helps
