I would punish my child because he/she knows better than to disrespect a teacher.

Considering that I am a teacher myself, and know how rude children in classrooms can be, I understand why she got so upset. Most teachers really care for their students, and it upsets them to know that the students do not respect them. You should be lucky enough to have parents that care about you. Most of my students have parents who could care less if their child was involved in something like this. Your parents are taking these actions because they want YOU to become a responsible, respectable adult, they don't care about the others in the class. And I'm sure, no matter how much you don't want to admit it, I'm sure some rude things have came from you as well, at least a giggle?.. Respect your teachers, and elders, all we want is the best for you.

That is BULL. kids R not just being kids when they have disciplinary problems, they R exercising, rudeness, lack of respect for elders and authority and rowdiness. That is unacceptable.
LOOK > when U exercise, what happens - U get stronger and better at whatever U R doing. Right ? So Y would U let a child get used to or better at (exercise) that negative behavior ?
That's not how to raise a child, that's how U train a pit bull.
My reaction would be to beat the sh1t out of the child and start leading by example and show the child that their behavior is unexceptable, period.
Thats what happens when BABIES have babies.....sad
The child ends up grown with no respect for life(there own or other peoples), no respect for the law or authority..... do I need to go on ?

Well, well....you wouldn't do 'nothing'.....I can understand why you lack respect for the teacher & I can also understand why the child is behaving as he/she is.
Every parent has the responsibility to teach their children right from wrong, & how to behave in society. They are also responsible to see that their children have an education, which means cooperation with the teachers.
I would do something & I would have started doing something long before this incident could ever have happened.
Children will be children, but even 'kids' should know and understand boundaries and limits.

The child needs to be talked to and disciplined. Remember there are other kids in that class that are there to learn. The child who is acting up is taking away from those other kids and their education. That child is hurting everyone in the long run, not just the teacher.
Not only that, the child needs to be taught to respect others. You shouldn't make anyone cry, teacher, child, parent, whatever.

your children are a reflection of you, teach them
respect at a young age starting with something as simple as appreciation for their toys and they'll grow to appreciate and respect other people and things a child should stay in a childs place.

The child in my opinion would be taught how to be respectful of other's feelings, because we do need to teach children some sense of limits. On the other hand, what kind of wimpy teacher would cry?

That is some of the problems . parents not correcting their children,. When I have kids and they are dis respectful and mean I will take away their favorites things for awhile and ground them until I know they have learned not to be disrespectful and mean . you wouldn't want it done to you .. so why let them do it to others.

Way to be a good parent. Don't teach them right from wrong. Don't teach them respect. They'll learn it...somewhere? Ever read Lord of the Flies.
