Why are warning labels good Play? Because the govenment should determine what is morally appropriate to listen to? Like Gun control and
other issues the authoritarian side of the left pursue, where will it end? With all due respect, this government does NOT have the right to tell the world my lyrics are wrong and I'll fight it by every legal means necessary until it ends or I end!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Right wing, I felt just as betrayed as you did.I chose to support the Libertarian party instead.I don't mena to sound condescending, but as long as the right supports and is supported by the religious right,I can't support them either. With bills like the Patriot act which will undoubtedly lead to censorship, bills they created and supported along with fundecostal idiots like
Ashcroft, I'll have to hold my nose and vote lefty this time-JMHO.

Yup chagee, If things continue to go the way they are going, with freedoms being stripped away from both the left and the right, you WILL give a rat's azz about it-I'll guaruntee it.Btw, I see form your profile that you are a Martial artist.Do you suppose that quasi-pacifist like Gore would even think twice about censoring Martial arts text
for violent content the way they and their kind would love to censor death metal for the same reasons? It may sound alarmist, but you better hope that the Tae Know Do federation has a damn powerful lobby just in case that day arrives!

I will never forgive him and neither should liberals; his attempt at censorship was the key turning point in my life. I began to examine political issues and became a Republican. Many of my headbanging metal brothers did the same.

I was about 14 years old. I had hair past my waist and I was going to be the next big thing in heavy metal. The PMRC meetings were taking place. Up to that point I never thought much about politics, I was the son of a printer and grandson of a farmer, I had long hair, I must be a Democrat. I did think Reagan was pretty cool for rebuilding the military, but I thought it was mostly his style.

PMRC really pissed me off. I thought it was the Democrats who stood up for the common man and his rights and here they were trying to censor MY music. I began to think about how I felt about my freedom of speech, my guns, a strong military and I did not want to be taxed to death when I started making huge money as a Rock Star. I came to the conclusion that I was a Republican.

I don't know if I forgive Gore, I doubt I would ever vote for him anyway. I am still a Republican but not a rock star.

Funny isn't it. They claim to be all about civil rights but as soon as someone says something they don't like they call for censorship
