A dentist told me that chewing ice cubes can cause chipping and damage to the enamel on your teeth, which in turn can let in cavities. Also, my mother used to crave ice and would chew it all day. The doctor told her that was an iron deficiency that made her crave ice (she had kidney disease and diabetes also). If you don't care what your teeth look like, then crunch away.

I've ate/chewed ice my whole life (I'm 22), so has my mother, & so did her mother. Our teeth get cracked anyways ( we have O.I.(britle bones)) so it dosn't matter none to us. Siblings who havn't chewed ice still get cracked teeth so we might as well do it & enjoy it!!!
The only bad thing I can see about it, is possibley chokeing. But we all have done since about 4 months.
So honestly I don't know. I say do what you like & enjoy. Ask your dentist & doctor if your worried about what your hubby said.

Some people have sensitive teeth, and the cold ice cubes can do root and nerve damage.

It's not good for your teeth but other than that it's fine.
People that crave ice need to see a dr as they may have a nutritional deficiency known as Pica.
If you're doing it for fun and not worried about your teeth, have at it all you want. =)

it will eventually crack your teeth if you do it a lot. I do it but got scared when an older guy I know had to get some teeth pulled for the same reason.
