I will proudly admit that I think Bush has destroyed this country. Not to mention the man is a moron and a weasel. He has made so many mistakes with horrible consequences. That being said, I love this country. The fact that I can say that the president is a moron and not be crusified for it, is one of the greatest things about this country. It's called Freedom. Democrats and Liberal don't hate america, I for one don't even hate Republican. Who I do hate are extreme right wing Conservatives who tell me that I am evil and godless and hate America because of my political views. George W Bush is not "America" he is the president of America. Why is it so hard for people to realize that diffrence?

Maybe "destroyed" is harsh. I think most of you know what I mean by that though. As a country, we have lost the respect of other countries. Our deficit is out of control, unemployment has sky rocketed, let's not even talk about gas prices. Yes, I get angry at the state of affairs in this country, but Hysterical is an exageration!

We've been destroying ourselves for a long time... But that's a different story for a different time and a different question.

To answer your question it is because they are pawns to the political affiliation they think they are educated on. In fact they are little more than mindless followers of a concept or group that they have grown to think is 'cool'. So they go out and slander the enemies of their favorite teen idols and support them at every turn because they like pretending they're political, or that they are in some way presenting an intelligent informed and/or educated response. They are essentially the groupies of the political world… Most of the people on this site are precisely that. They don’t know anything about politics but to them it is cool to be hanging around it.

First, let's start with freedom of speech. People let their emotions read the statements and not the eyes. I also hate Bush and have not witnessed one good thing that idiot has done for our sacred country. It's not that people do not realize it, they just get too touchy about hating Bush to distinguish the difference. For my personal example (it fit's in great here) see my yahoo questions: What's all the fuss is this offensive to you? The responses I received on this question were not answering my question at hand. Only one reader noticed this (after he was quite rude and I pointed out the fact that he didn't answer the question at hand) and he apologized profusely. Emotions react quicker than the eyes!

Bush hasn't quite yet destroyed our country.

But those who think that way buy into the whole Authoritarian/father figure way in which that whole crew runs the country.

Of course, it is the conservative deflection-tactic that is used when you disagree with what Bushie does. Oh, you don't like bush so you hate America. So, when all those same people ragged on Clinton, I guess THEY hated america then.

to sjean above-- hey, I DO fly the flag, I do salute and stand for the national anthem. I love my country-- but abhore my country's leadership. So screw you people for questioning my patriotism. My allegence is to the COUNTRY, not a party and certainly not ONE man in the office. I respect the office of Prez, not the guy that's there.

When you pledge alligence to the flag, it is to the republic for which it stands, one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all. Nowhere does it say, Bush, Republican, Democrat or anything else.

Well spoken. Unfortunately, whilst on this site I have seen a very closed-mindedness among far too many Americans. Constructive criticism is not unpatriotic.
Throughout Europe, we are very proud of our heritage, but also know that our countries are far from perfect. Britain had the largest empire known to man, built on the lives of less fortunate people. We have been responsible for many of the great advances in the history of the world, and much of the brutality. It is taught in our schools that we should be proud, but also not blind to the mistakes, as that is how we can all learn from history.
The US average citizen finds it inconceivable that their country could ever be wrong, that their politics is the only politics for the world, and that McDonalds and Coca Cola improve the quality of peoples lives so exponentially that killing a million or so people is justified!
I'm glad to hear from one of the many exceptions to this rule, there are many in America, but unfortunately are the silent minority. Most fools think that shouting the loudest maked you right.
Good luck.

why? alright, obviously you are having a hard time understanding even what your saying, so I'll try to use small words. In your own rant up there I can show you why I think you have a distorted view of my big beautiful America.

1. destroyed this country
a. Destroyed what? our foreign relations? lol, if you think its been a lot better in the past, you need to open a book. Iran has hated us for decades and so has North Korea. If you'll remember Iraq tried to kill Bush Sr before Bush Jr ever even thought of running for office. Venezuela doesn't hate Bush, they hate how we use the CIA to screw with their country non stop. (look up CIA in venezuela)

2.Not to mention the man is a moron and a weasel.
a. Who managed to become something that none of you or your friends could be no matter how hard you try.

3. He has made so many mistakes with horrible consequences
a. Like what? the illegal war in Iraq? bah, killing some towelheads there makes less towel heads able to come here. the economy? The economy only effects those who are uneducated. I live very well under this admin and still pay less taxes than I ever did under my favorite president (Clinton)

4. Democrats and Liberal don't hate america
a. I'm a registered Democrat and have been for years. The fact remains that die hard Democrats do destroy the moral fiber of America with homo rights, abortion rights, and their promotion of the non working poor. Democrats may not hate America as a group, but they sure do destroy it as a group.

5. Who I do hate are extreme right wing Conservatives who tell me that I am evil and godless and hate America because of my political views.
a. I'm agnostic and I could care less who is godless. the only god involved in politics is the guys my dad called "God damn donkeys and elephants may as well all be monkeys" You are welcome to your political views and probably think you are the only one with the right idea. The real problem is understanding that our opinion of our politican only means that we should vote for someone else. Your guy may say "I hate abortion" but has little power to change any of it. get real and understand that 1/2 of all the people who vote shouldn't. Not because of their economic or political stance, rather thier lack of. I actually heard a group of girls in my Business class a few years back say "I won't vote for Kerry because he's so ugly" its this mentality that makes me think the electorial college is correct and the common U.S. citizen is stupid and their vote doesn't really matter.

6.George W Bush is not "America" he is the president of America

let me try to find a way to put this so that even the simple minded will understand. Our president is the head of our country. Don't you think when the people of this nation are constantly criticizing him at ever turn this gives the enemy fuel to kill our troops? they want us to be pissed and make us pull him out of office, and when they see people like you, hating our leader it gives them fuel. You young lady are helping kill our troops by fueling our enemy with propganda, shame on you.

7. Why is it so hard for people to realize that diffrence
a. Because there is no difference. I Am not a fan of Bush, I liked Gore a lot more But I stand behind our president 100% because he is our leader no matter how many 15 year old snot nose girls don't like his opinion.

Well said! Perhaps "destroyed" was a bit harsh. Probably serverely damaged would be more appropriate. Also, I would not say I hate extreme right wing Conservatives. I feel sorry for those that are in the extreme religious right. They must live very tormented lives to go to church on Sunday and be told that we are all "God's children" , even you and I, MJ, yet go out into their daily lives believing that more than half of those around them are evil and sent by Satan.

Because most of the people in this country have been left behind in the school system. And my parents would fall on that christian right spectrum. I just don't get it either. My favorite is being called unchristian for voting dem. At least, our last offering politically was philandering with women of age. Bad, but not criminal. Reps have set the new low. I guess the party wants to push attention away from that.

Excepting the extreme far-right, most Bush supporters feel that how acceptable dissent is depends upon the level of respect.
For example, calling the president a moron is wrong, and disrespectful. My mom HATED Clinton, but if I dared call him a moron, she told me off.
You have the freedom to dissent. The manner in which it's done is what matters.

I might take you serious except for the fact you cant just say " I think Bush did a lousey job and here is the reason why"
No you have to stoop to name calling such as he's a " moron and a weasel" .
You admit that you think Bush destroyed this country but you dont say why or how he did it, the closest you come is by saying "He has made so many mistakes with horrible consequences.".
