It showed that the poor were so poor that they were prepared to send their children into dangerous conditions just to put food on the table.
It also shows that the mine, mill, factory owners etc were greedy and selfish enough to let them as long as they made more money.

this reflected as a less happy citizen ship meaning people were less happy also the child birth raised because there was actually \a cause for children incresing population
