I need to get xp back after a clean install of vista. I have backed up all my programs I need. When I boot from my xp home disk and it asks me where to install I use the defalt C:\Windows(or what ever it is)
It then asks for an admin pass. I dont know it. Its not blank or anything I could think of. (when I go into safe mod in vista and try and click on the admin user it says ...admin has been disabled...)

I dont know what to do!!!

Please help.

:)

Ill love you like a fat man and cake

Typically, you can't downgrade an OS once you've installed it. If you really want XP back, and you have the installation disk, I suggest you re-boot your computer into DOS. Once there, run FDISK, delete your active partition and create a new active partition. This will completely wipe everything off that portion of the HD so you can start fresh again.

Wish I could help you more!

in case you upgraded Vista to 7, you now no longer have Vista put in. you've a folder named residing house windows.old with each and every of the archives you had in Vista. leaf by ability of that, flow those you want to the position you want them and delete the folder. in case you install 7 to a diverse partition than Vista replaced into put in on (you get a call, at the same time as the computer starts off, of which one to run), you are able to in basic terms format the partition that Vista is on. (Run EasyBCD to eliminate the Vista determination.)

what u probally need to do is delete the partition that windows vista was on...then afer u delete it it...u have to create a new partition....it will most likely give u the total amount of space u need ....if u want to create another partition after that...select create a new partition..u will have to take out of the one u just created....now u will have c/d drive....then just finish the set up process...it is not recommmended to copy windows over a previous version..or to downgrade
what u actually should of done was
get acronis disk director...created a new partition with that...then installed vista..then u woulda been able to choose which one u wanted to run

They tried to warn you about this when you installed the Beta. But, like me, you ignored them. :) You're going to have to FDISK your drive, then remove and recreate the partition.
