you can get pregnant on any birth control the patch has higher blood clot risks and heart problem risks than the pill or the shot. I believe there is a class action law suit against the makers of the patch because of the severeness of the blood clots and heart problems.

Well, I was on the patch for Dysmenorrhea (painful cramps and other symptoms), and I got off it. I heard some women complaining about blood clots and also about getting pregnant while using the patch (and yes, they used it correctly). I thought they took it off the market because of all the blood clot and heart problem complaints? I saw commercials about it being removed, so I think you should try another method just to be safe. Why not try the new ring (Nuvaring) if you don't want to use a pill or the shot?

I tried the patch and hated it. I felt worse on the patch than did while i was pregnant. It made me sick. I was so tired and nauseated. I couldn't eat certain foods.

Plus they say it is suppose to stay on in the water and it didnt. Pluse you know when you have a band aide on for a while and dirt and fuzz stick to that glue stuff and you have like a ring around the band aide. You get that and it s hard to get off.

I would not get on it. I would try something else.

Plus it has a high rate of blood clotting. It was all over the news. Get on something else.

I do not know of anyone who got pregnant while using the patch. i find its convenient cause its used once a week and my doctor when prescribing it said that he thinks its one of the better forms of birth control for whatever reason---but just a warning, when I started using the patch I would bleed whenever I had sex and that is apparently normal at first. I stopped using it because that did not seem normal to me.

DONT DO IT!!! I was on it for 6 months, and got pregnant on it and 3 months later found out my baby had died inside of me. When we did an autopsy on the baby, they found a blood clot in her brain that killed her. The birth control patch was later linked to killing with blood clots. I currently have a law suit against the makers of the patch for my baby;s death. I WOULD not want any other woman to go through what I had to go through and will live with till the day I die!!

i was on the patch for a lil while... i hated it! it's like wearing a huge band-aid for a week, it gets all gunky around the edges from when it slides around on your skin and the adhesive gets exposed to your clothes. you can clean it with alchohol but it gets real old fast. blue shield has a good website that will allow you to see what medications are covered by your plan, including birth control. i suggest you check it out.

In a nutshell, the ingredients of the patch fool your body into thinking you are already pregnant so you can't get pregnant again! Voila!
