According to the State Department, here are the places where it isn't safe for Americans to travel: Yemen, Iran, Sudan, Uzbekistan, Lebanon, Syria, Chad, Algeria, Israel, the West Bank and Gaza, Iraq, Congo, Nigeria, Sri Lanka, Kenya, East Timor, Haiti, Burundi, Saudi Arabia, Afghanistan, Philippines, Eritrea, Somalia, Nepal, Central Africa, Pakistan, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Liberia, Côte d'Ivoire, Colombia, Indonesia, and Zimbabwe
It's not hard, nor coincidence, to pick out our active enemies from this list: Yemen, Iran, Lebanon, Syria, Chad, Algeria, Central Africa, Pakistan, Colombia, Indonesia, and Zimbabwe. Add in Venezuela, Cuba and China.
Don't forget Hollywood and Manhattan.

I'm not sure if enemy is the right term, or opponent, but China is definitely one. China has a ton of problems with their domestic and foreign policy, living conditions, etc...and they're constantly hindering the United States in nearly every foreign endeavor.
Also, it's well documented how China has sold nuclear secrets, designs, and military equipment such as missiles to some of our enemy. It seems like they're working against us purposely, but trying to keep it all low-key.

Everyone who doesn't agree with them.
I mean, they want to build a wall between themselves and CANADA. They are also doing air patrols of the border between Montana and Alberta. ALBERTA, the most American of the provinces. As a friend of mine said, are they afraid of Al-Cowda? Not to mention the live fire exercises they're planning in the Great Lakes... some of them as little as 40 KM from where I live. Given all of this I can only conclude that they see us as enemies as well. I mean... wtf? OUR MEN ARE DYING IN AFGHANISTAN FOR A WAR THEY STARTED AND WE'RE THE ENEMY TOO?

We are our own worst enemy in the following ways:
1. We fail to properly educated our young, particularly in math and the hard sciences and especially in language skills.
2. We try to take care of the world and cannot take care of ourselves.
3. We meddle in everyone else's business to our detriment.
4. Our industry is failing to revitalize itself.
We have generally gotten lazy.

Right now we are our own worst enemy. While it is true that you can fight fire with fire, you cannot fight terror by acting like a terrorist. One can try to "think" like a terrorist to anticipate their moves, but you don't have to adopt their tactics. Right now it is difficult to distinguish terrorists tactics from many of those Bush as put to use in America. It is not enough to prove we are better "warriors" than our enemy, we must prove we defeat them and still maintain the high moral principles our forefather established for us in the Constitution.
