I make a lot more than I did 6 years ago, but like Sway, I didn't wait for the government to make it happen.

My quality of life has increased. However, I doubt that has anything to do with who controls the political scene. I have found my niche in a good company that offers advancement opportunities in WA state. I suspect that part of your problem is that things in Michigan have been on the decline due to the sagging American automotive industry. Instead of finding ways to keep consumers buying American vehicles, the UAW put its efforts into trying to get high tariffs on import vehicles. The Big three also complained instead of trying to create new lines to compete with the foreign cars. Only now are they starting to offer anything similar but they still hang on to large trucks and SUVs. Since Michigan's economy is linked to that, it spelt doom for your economy. You can blame a political party if you want but the big three and the unions are the ones who are really to blame

Mine certainly has improved. We moved out of our home state and went where the money was. We make almost DOUBLE what we did before and live in a house that's several times more expensive. Sometimes you have to make a bold move and follow the money...

I have been doing better every single year, but maybe thats because I choose to succeed on my own instead of expecting my government to take care of me.
