because i have gd i go for stress test 2x a week. They hook you up to a machine and wrap these 2 cords around your stomach. There is a piece on each cord. One piece is put where they can moniter the heart. The other piece is put right above that. If the baby doesn't respond, which happened to me on tuesday, then my doc used this black thing to shock the baby. It doesn't hurt at all, u don't feel anything. I am not sure how long they will have her on the machine. My visits last for about 20 mins. They could moniter her longer than that. Good luck, and i hope that everything will be alright.

Actually what your daughter will be having is a non-stress test. There is such a thing as a contraction stress test, but it's not done very often these days. The non-stress test will help your daughter's doctor determine if the baby is neurologically intact enough to respond to stimuli. This is called a "reactive" non-stress test, and is considered reassuring. If your daughter's test is non-reactive, she may need to be delivered right away, or she may need to undergo further testing to determine if the baby is suffering from oxygen deprivation.

First they will hook her up to a machine by placing two straps across her belly, one measures heart rate, one measures for any tightening(contractions)They will put this thing on her stomach, for just a second, its like a small blow horn,i'm not kidding you it shocks the baby.I had twins and they had to do this to me everytime i had a stress test, which was 1x a week. They will probably try to give her some orange juice first, which may work.It usually will give the baby a sugar wake up about 20 minutes after she drinks it.Maybe that will be all she needs, but it is possible they will put that noisy thing on her belly to wake him up.

I had my last child 8yrs ago, so if stress tests are like they were back then, they have a little device aboout the size of your computer mouse that makes a buzzing sound and vibrates, it doesn't hurt, it actually tickles, it annoys the baby and makes it move around

I went for a stress test because my guy wasn't moving either. They hooked me up to the test and then they gave a juice drink(not a healthy juice but a sugary one). That is supposed to kickstart the baby and make them move around.

FYI, the stress test doesn't hurt. They just hook pads to your belly.
