I agree! Definitely time for the vet. Is there a 24 hour vet in your area? An exotic animal vet is best since they specialize in animals like guinea pigs. I am not sure if I am supposed to post website names, but I'll risk it. Go to guinealynx.com. They have great information there, and if you are looking for a vet that may be in your area, on the left go to "find a vet" under "Medical Guide." Best of luck. I really hope it turns out to be nothing.

Guinea pig health is pretty complex for a small animal. A vet that is experienced in exotic pets is what you need, not any vet will do because of the sensitivity to drugs. Especially antibiotics. It could be anything from diet to mites to internal problems, could be an allergy. What kind of bedding are you using?
Without seeing the piggie, and knowledge of her diet and cage conditions, I wouldn't be able to say. The webs will help you keep your piggie healthy if you study them.

GO TO A VET IMMEDIATELY!!! I have guinea pigs, and believe me, since they are so small it doesn't take long for a small problem to turn into a big deal. If your vet isn't open, find a clinic that is. It is your pet's life at stake, and the symptoms you described are potentially serious.

If her eyes are not clear then yes she is sick. Take her to the vet right now. Don't wait until you can afford it if you love your pet then do it right now. It could be wet tail which is more common in hamsters but it can affect guinea pigs if that is the case you need to get her on antibiotics immediately.

I don't know for sure what is wrong with her but it sounds to me like she is sick. I'm not trying to scare you but guinea pigs don't live very long lives. So I think that you should take her to a vet.

try giving her a very small amount of ivermectin. put some on the end of a tooth pick and put it behind her top teeth, repeat this in ten days, then again ten days later. my guinea pig had lost almost all of his hair and I read about the ivermectin on the internet - so I went to my local feed store and bought some Ivermectin (horse paste) and did what I told you. now he looks greater than ever, you can't even tell he ever had a problem.

Ignore what the person above just said. Go to the vet as soon as possible. Do not give just any amount of ivermectin. It has to be a specific dose.

She sounds lathargic, in which case many things can be wrong with her.
But don't worry, my rat had red crusty bumps under his chin, and I freaked. I took him to the vet, and it turned out to be mites. Though I found out FIRST by searching on Google. Yahoo won't help you, look for sites pointed TOWARDS gunipigs and their needs, not everything under the sun. Enter in Gunipig Care and then some keywords in her symtoms... chances are, unless she has a very rare disorder, you'll find the problem. â¥
