Oak wood front door (exterior only) - trying to remove some kind of black paint or stain from front door but is not coming off well. we've tried stripper already a bunch of times, tried sanding the color out but sanding has started to remove decorative grooves in door and the door is only a few shades lighter. is there any known fast heavy duty paint stripper product out there that anyone knows of?

the brand name isn't as important as is getting a paint stripper that is heavy bodied or a gell. Leave it on as long as it says, or a little loner, to give it time to work. Scrape all that will come off, Wipe it down with paint thinner and then reapply until it all comes off. To get the last little bit, use 000 steel wool dipped in stripper and rub with the grain.

I would suggest using a heat gun, not a paint stripper; it works fairly fast and won't harm the finish if you are careful. If the door is oak..some of the paint will be in the grain as oak is a heavy grain...that won't come out well. Go to a professional paint store and ask about any product that will "leach"

They have quite a few products at Home Depot. One that comes to mind is Bixstrip. There are others. They all work about the same. You just have to be patience and give them time to work. Follow the directions on the product and should be OK. Don't get any that you spray on. Get the gel kind that you have to put on with a paint brush. Take the door off,,,it will be a whole lot easier. Lay it down on some saw horses and go to it.
