Green tea will help and so will gargling with hot salty water. But most of all you need to get lots of rest and let your immune system take care of things.

Listerine or any other mouthwash. Gargle a diluted version with warm water. A steeped honey and fresh ginger slivers have been a stage secret of singers all over the world. That one you sip and allow to soothe your throat.
It tastes so good, that making your throat better is just an afterthought.
As for green tea, it is one thing to use.. after all, plenty of liquids is good for everyone.

Green tea has been shown in scietific studies to be no better or worse or have any special porperties over other teas.
I suggest you buy zinc lozenges to heal your throat.
