There is a knocking, more like a clunk. Happens when going around corners, and more so when i go over bumps. I think its the strut...any ideas?

Most of the time it's sway bar bushings. If you can figure the size you can get some at Autozone for $20 and probably replace them one at a time without having to take the sway bar out.
Best is to pay the $50 for an inspection at Sears or a good tire shop. You get the $50 credited to any repairs they make.

Sounds like the rubber mount that the strut fits into at the top.

could be two things, the bearing plate (strut plate) or ball joint. check the ball joint and if its tight its going to be the strut plate. this is the plate thats above the strut which allows it to turn
