I'm not planning to use this against anyone else, just trying a self-hypnosis thing.

I want to at least try it though, how do you get it to blend in?

ONCE AGAIN, I don't care if it hasn't worked before. I need to try it, at least.

Anybody who answers with it not working without telling me at least how to do it will now be reported.

You need some really good equipment, basically you record the music on one track and the message on another. The music has to have much higher volume than the message, or the message be either sub-sonic or supersonic to not interfere with the music.

Subliminal messages really don't work.
If you want to self-hypnotize yourself, then there are better methods. Use a regular tape recorder and record all your lines (You're a good person, You do have confidence!, and so on) and fall asleep while listening to the tape. Be sure to use headphones, repeat the lines over and over on the tape, and use something to keep you asleep (meds).
If you want to make the tape more soothing to help you fall asleep, while you record all your lines, play an ambience cd in the background and make sure the recorder picks it up. Enjoy.

i think the point they're making is that for it to be subliminal it by definition has to be quiet to the point of silent, or unintelligible to the point of, well, unintelligible. isn't the usual way just to record spoken words backwards and overlay them on a normal forward song? you could try that. alternatively the program cool edit pro (now called adobe audition) used to have a brain-wavefrequency filter thing for making mentally tuned effects. though that was probably just their way of describing an effect they had no other name for...

Coca-Cola spent millions using subliminal messaging in cinemas during the fifties (or possibly sixties). They dropped it after a while because they discovered that it did not work.

it doesn't "work" at all. For instance Queens Bohemian Rhapsody backwards fairly clearly says Smoke Marijuana...yet you hear that song 500 times a day on the radio and few if any people listening are blazing up right?
