Easier to just yank out the entire shaft and replace it.

It's a lot of work, however the general steps are.

1. While car is on ground, loosen the axle hub nut. This is the nut that runs through the hub and connects the CV shaft to the hub. It's on real tight and you'll definitely need a breaker bar to loosen it.

2. Raise up car and secure it on jack stands. (Do not do this without stands because you'll be jerking the car around a bit and it could easily fall.

3. Remove the wheel.

4. Remove the bolts that hold the control-arm to the suspension and push down.

5. You should have enough play to maneouver the CV shaft out of the hub now.

6. Disconnect the CV shaft from the transaxle.

7. Replace the entire CV shaft will replace both the inner and outer CV joints.

8. After installation in reverse, you'll need to get a front end alignment afterwards.

Get a Chiltons manual from Autozone or your local equivalent. I changed the ones out on my 96 Galant with it and it was an invaluable guide.
