Well in the state of Georgia and Florida you do not have to have a cosmetology license to open a shop. You only have to have a license to perform services on clients. Any one can work in a salon as a receptionist, but only people licensed can do services. My husband opened my shop and his name is on the business license but I am the one that has the cosmetology license. Maybe this will help dont know about Maryland. Good luck!! Hope your business is a success!!!
