Ther are some schools where you apply to the school of pharmacy when you apply to the university. You are admitted to both at the same time. Then you only have to keep up your GPA and yuo are guaranteed a seat. It would be worth checking this out because if you go the other route - apply to a university where you do two years and then apply to the School of Pharmacy, the competition to get in is brutal, worse than getting into med school. And you have to take chem, calculus, bio, and organic chem in those two years... so it is not like the prereq courses are easy.

On the other hand, the rewards are great. Pharm grads are getting fab job offers. So it's worth working your butt off for two years.

Competition is tough. To be competitive, you will need at least a 3.5 GPA, and at some schools, a bachelors. Your PCAT will need to be at least a 75. In terms of the writing portion, I do not know what is competitive because it became a part of the PCAT after I took it in the 2004/05 test year. You will have to study quite a bit because the material is not easy. You will be competing against fellow prePharms and preMeds.
Good luck!
