By Bin La den's own words< "Iraq is the epicenter of the Holy War. This is not another Veit Nam. The stakes are considerably higher. We have been attacked. We are still being attacked by a small minority Of extremists within an otherwise peaceful religion. Peripheral "quacks" seize it as just an opportunity to espouse their Insane vibrato, but the real players thrive on attention. They live and breathe the Adrenalin that comes from brainwashing and controlling the weak minded. Unfortunately, there is enough money to make this group very dangerous. If we do not face the Heart of the Beast in Iraq, we will surely face them on our own soil. The cut and run idea will cause geometrically more death and chaos than we see now. I don't think that anyone of sound mind desires war. Death and destruction are not the qualities of life that "normal" people desire. However, Reason is always absent when someone forces their tyrannical views on others. War is the only option.

Two major selling points were made in 2002.

We (the American people) were told that:
(a) Saddam Hussein was developing and had weapons of mass destruction and;
(b) that Iraq supported terrorism (mainly through payment to Palestinian suicide bombers).

Of course, both were false...and now we Americans are experiencing the wrath of countless NEW terrorists in Iraq because we illegally invaded their country.

By the way, we were also told that from the sale of Iraqi oil, we would be able to pay for the invasion.
Last time I checked, the United States hasn't seen a dime from that oil...and the latest cost of the war has exceeded $335 Billion.

And it's "nuclear", not "nuckear".

Some policy makers in Washington decided that the region would be a better place without Saddam Hussein in power. Based on this opinion and bad intelligence they gave the President what I feel was bad advice. Instead of stabilizing the region it de-stabilized it. The Muslim sects are fighting amongst themselves again, which they were not doing with him in power. Even though I have these opinions and feel that we should have withdrawn 2 years ago after the battles I feel that we are in so deep now that we can't leave until the job is done (not that I'm sure what that will be). I will support our President in these things till the end. Whether its George W. Bush or someone else in 2 years.

Cristi@n.........your answer is terrible.Bush himself admits that Iraq has nothing to do with 9/11 and never has.
Iraq has oil lots of it.If there was no oil there ,we wouldnt be there.It is that simple.
Installing a stable govt is the first step in getting control of that oil.Unfortunately that is proving harder than anticipated.

In truth you really don't want to know if after 4 years you have no clue why we are there then I don't think you have the intelligence to understand any explanation.
