Can someone please explain to me how high school football players (or any other sport for that matter) are getting a hold of steroids? I heard on my local news that a couple of high school football players were kicked off their football team for testing positive for steroids. How are high school kids getting a hold of steroids? Is it addictive? Do u think their parents know of steroids use & their risks? (well of course now they do, after it was in the news)

Some steroids are legal to make and sell, but illegal in certain sporting venues, as they should be. As for 'pro' wrestlers, body-builders, etc., the use of certain steroids is legal. High school, college, and pro football regularly test athletes for use of banned substances, including steroids of numerous types. When athletes start hanging out in gyms where body-builders, and strength trainers are using steroids, then the obvious effects of the drugs are indisputably enticing to the athlete.
It's up to the coaches NOT to turn a blind eye when he sees an athlete RAPIDLY gaining muscle poundage, and boosting his weight-lifting maximums.

This is not something new. I took steroids back in my high school playing days as did a few others of us. We were able to get them through a local gym. Everyone knew who the "guy" was and back then 1981-1983 it was not in the main stream media so it was pretty open kind of thing.

The same as any other thing illegal....if someone wants something there is always someone willing to get it for them. I am glad to see them testing H.S. sports now...
