I cant stand the thought of being around someone who has done my very dirty; it makes me feel sooooo looooow. Intolerable. The scene flashes back in my mind because I am only human. I must have a strong will about forgiveness...

Yes. It may take time, but when you are ready you can forgive. My father was very abusive so I broke all ties with my family when I got out of high school since no one seemed to care. His parents were abusive as well, so it was a pattern. I learned to be the opposite and used him as an example of how NOT to treat people, and it made me a stronger person. I heard that he died last year of cancer, so I found his grave and offered my forgiveness. Maybe a little late, but I guess better than never. I think you have to ask yourself, is it worth the anger?

Yes. It is not in our nature but we can learn. Forgiveness is a choice, sometimes one that we must make repeatedly until it sinks into the very fiber of who we are.
I have been emotionally hurt by a family member I used to respect and love. I still love him in the way that I wish him well in life but the respect is gone. I have choosen to forgive him but everytime I see him all the old issues boil back up and I have to remind myself that I have forgiven him it's time to move on. It is getting easier and I believe one day the anger will just be a distant memory but trusting him is another matter.
When we forgive it means we want to move out of the pain/sadness/anger. It does NOT mean we get all warm and fuzzy inside and want to forget and be friends.

yes you can learn to forgive by trying to look at things as other perspectives meaning put yourself in the shoes of someone who wants somebody Else's forgiveness

Yes you can learn to forgive if you WANT to forgive. If you really just aren't ready to do it, then i don't think you can "learn" how. It does depend on you re readiness and willingness to learn...same with about everything you need to learn!

Sure you can learn to forgive, but it's forgetting that is the problem.

The word forgive doesn't exist in an Italian's vocabulary. So the answer is no.

Yes. If those Amish familys forgave the killer who murdered their daughters, I think that I can forgive the guy who cut me off on I-95.
