Nice one - if they can get that far who knows at what stage they will be in 100 years time! The problem is that I won't be around to use the darned thing as I will be permanently invisible!

Sounds kind of fishy to me...but maybe that's just skepticism talking.
Okay, this is where I find problems. For a cloak of invisibility to work it would have to be duplicating the the substituted volume as to create the illusion that the volume has not been substituted. In simpler terms how would it know to blen everything into a specific background especially in terms of speaking three dimensional. It would have to constantly producing the gained knowledge somehow by recreating the surrounding and unaccounted for area.
Then again, crazier things have happened.

Sounds cool. Good article. What would you do if you had a cloak of invisibilty? I board planes and travel all over the world. I would need some money but not much, because I would throw on my cloak and steal food. I would pay for a hotel room, because it would be too hard to get a way with stealing a hotel room. I would be parnoid someone would be checking in and making their way into "my" room.

Theoretically possible & they're working on the details. I think it's mostly fiction at the moment with a distinct possibility of becoming fact.

i dont know. that is very interesting. Obviously objects wouldnt be invisible to the naked eye, but if an object could be invisible to radar detection, then that would mean a huge advancement in military protection.

well, it only cloaks microwaves. but that is still pretty cool, since animals would barely be able to see what is being cloaked. who knows, maybe one day we'll be able to be totally invisible. it does seem possible now.
