Normal? Sure, for someone who overeats and has no regard for one's health. The food you eat should reflect the respect you have for your health and overall well being. It is unwise to pay such little regard, even at your age. Despite the fact that "everyone's doing it", your unhealthy eating habits will be much more difficult to deal with as you get older.

Think of a piece of steak. The fat around the edges of the steak reflect the fat around your body. Now, when the steak is really fat, you usually see a lot of veins of fat throughout the muscle, right? Well it's the same for humans, the muscle have to get really fatty before it even shows up on the outer edges. Therefore, by the time the fat even shows up, you are already too fat. As time wears on, the fat will invade your arteries and cause heart disease, for many people like you, it can happen as early as the late 30's or early 40's.

For men, the stomach area is something of greater concern. Many men are under the delusion that if their stomach is hard, it's not fat. Nothing could be further from the truth. Most men carry their fat in their stomach underneath their internal organs, pushing the internal organ outward. Since the organs are harder than fat to the touch, they think they are healthy, when in fact, they are not. This is extremely dangerous.

You might even have caught yourself saying "I just want to be happy, so what if I die younger", but that really isn't always true. What will likely happen is you will deteriorate for decades, still live to be 60-80, but feel really awful for the last half of your life. You can look forward to a deteriorated sex life, inability to completely take care of yourself, diminished social life. Do you see a lot of fat old people around? Not a lot and do you know why? They're dead or hold up in their house and can't leave.

Start respecting yourself. Eat plenty of greens, whole grain, grilled chicken, fish and meats. Stay away from fast food and sodas, white flour products and sugar. Move around as much as you can throughout the day, lay off the T.V. and video games, exercise as best that you can. It's really that simple. Once you get accustomed to it, you can't imagine how you lived any other way. Important thing is, don't wait, and start young. You develop your eating habits as a child and teenager. It's quite difficult to change later in life.

Judging by your question, you should take action now. You seem doomed for an incredibly unhappy life. The lack of respect for yourself is not only reflected in the content, but the lack of concern you show for your grammar. This can be interpreted as a sign of you lack of concern for your level of intelligence. Please take more stock in your life.

I wouldn't say it's "normal" per se, unless your sports ask for you to be of such size.

1st point: It is difficult to lose excess weight after you turn 20 or 25 or so... If gaining weight now is easy enough, you should consider losing it before your body matures fully and has more difficulty to lose weight... The older you get, the more difficult it is!

2nd; Unless you are built like a "hulk", your weight seems a bit over-weight indeed. But there are hugely muscle-built individuals who weight that much and most of it is muscle (muscle is heavier than fat)... However, if most of it is bulk fat, then you are deffinatly overweight, and not in the good sense either!

3rd; I think it would be best if you trained in either weight training or watersports (swimming) to help build muscle structure... I think this may proove more useful than sheer bulk (fat) when facing your adverseries in fottball... But that's just my opinion!

Myself, I am 6 feet tall and weight 237 lbs. I am slightly overweight even though my body and general stature is strong and wide... If I weight trained (if I had time) I'd be super buff!

Cheers!

WOW. Possible I guess. I gained 20 lbs in one year and thought that was a lot....try to watch what you eat more closely and start jogging.
