court house job?

how can you get a job working in a court house as a secretary or something simple because im only 17 and i dont know if i can work there and if i cant can i do community service there

The Court I work for is Family Court. To get the job, I had to apply to the State and take some standardized tests to get on what they call an "accreditation" list -- that shows that I have enough of the basic skills to be employable within the State system. Once there, I kept an eye on the State website, where jobs were constantly listed and put in my resume for the jobs. I was eventually called up and accepted.

Our Court sometimes also will hire "non-paid" volunteer interns, which may help you become familar with the Court system and introduce you to some people that can later help you get a real paying job.

Check your State website, or contact the HR department for the Courts for more information.

Jobs of that nature when dealing with the court house are normally Civil Service type positions. Check with you location and they will let you know.

Certain ones you may have to take a Civil Service test, but check with someone that may work there, possibly in the County Clerks office as they might have a listing of what positions are open and what it takes to apply.
