My mom found this ad for government jobs on the newspaper, and quickly let me know about it because it said its employees get paid up to 18 dollars an hour. I called and they asked me to come in. I went and after I filled out an application they told me I needed to pay $10 to take a test and process my application. It seemed a bit odd because I don't you shuold pay to do that, so I left to do a bit of research on them. They have no logo or address... they're just called "American Registration Center." I googled it and nothing comes up pertaning to government jobs. I wonder if it's a scam?

Did you apply at the actual government office or at unknown hole in the wall? If it is a hole in the wall, then yes it is a scam. All they will provide you is with a list of possible job openings with the government. It will still be up to you to contact the office and you will still have to take the required government tests. If you want to a government job, your best bet is to go trough your local gov. website, they always have job listings available.

I as quickly as had a roommate who worked as a working laptop or laptop programmer for the State Judiciary. cases have been tight so he had to get by way of on $75K with basically 5 weeks off each twelve months. the guy went to artwork at 10, checked email till 12, took a lunch, then napped for an hour till now getting some artwork accomplished and going domicile at 5. Now it extremely is extremely not everyday. The state did no longer have investment to artwork on any of his projects that twelve months so he merely killed time many of the day for 10 months till the subsequent financial twelve months, then he honestly did some artwork. the factor is that he grew to become into extremely overpaid to do no longer something all day via fact as a central authority worker they could no longer lay him off whilst artwork have been given slow. If he have been privater sector they could have canned him as quickly as he wasn't doing any artwork.
