During late pregnancy and during labor your cervix can "dilate" or open. The cervix needs to be dilated to 10 centimeters in order to start pushing and have a baby. If it's closed, it's not dilated.

Your Pregnant ! The cervix closes when you become pregnant to keep anything from getting in or out of your uterus. The cervix begins to open when you go into labor and once it is at 10 cent. you will begin pushing

that means your not ready to give birth yet. when its very close to your due date, your cervix will start to soften and begin to open the birth canal. after that the water usually breaks/ or labor starts. Congratulations.

It means that you have not dilated any. If you are pregnant and not ready to go into labor yet, that is a good thing.

That nobody is going anywhere for 10 more centimeters. Whether that is good depends on how long you've been waiting.
