This is what it says and I am a us citizen

On the first visit to any correctional facility, the visitors will be required to have a photo identification, such as a driver's license, a state identification card, or acceptable documentation of non-US citizen including a current passport, Visa, or Matricula, and documentation that includes their social security numbers if US citizens, and date of birth.

Does that mean I mean a I.d. ,a S.S. card , AND something(?) with my birthdate? Or just I.D. and S.S.?

You need your picture ID and some money, generally they have a coin machine in the lobby before you go into the visiting area. Be polite to the staff at the reception area. Dress conservatively. And enjoy the visit, chances are they need all the support they can get. Remember to be yourself and don't ask too many questions about "prison" life, I am certain whoever it is doesn't want to talk all that much about it during a personal visit. You will have to be an approved visitor before you try to go for a visit. Hope this helps. Usually it takes 3 to 6 weeks before you receive your approval or denial, in most states you can only be on one inmates visiting list, no more than one. Best wishes for you and your friend, prison is hard and it's hard to visit and leave a loved one behind the bars!

I'm thinking ID and S.S. Besides a birth certificate, I don't know what else they could ask you for. But, to get employed, I always use a S.S. card and my D.L. So, that's probably all you'll need for this.

I visit my brother-in-law in prison once a week and all I have ever needed is my drivers license. It's the dress code for visitors that's ridiculous.

I thought it was pretty clear. A Photo ID and something that shows your ss# and date of birth. The body cavity search is fun, enjoy.

You will need photo ID and a SS card. Your birthdate should be on your ID. If so, that will suffice. If not, you will need something else with DOB.

From what I know you just need a state issued D.L. but it might be different in your state. So just to be on the safe side I would bring both and a vial of your DNA!

It means you MUST HAVE A PHOTO ID. Don't let them fool you. And, unless this is a parent you are going to see - I suggest you do not go and YOU find new friends.
