John Locke & Desmond locked Mr. Eko out from the main part of the hatch where the computer is because Locke didn't want Eko to push the button anymore because he said it was pointless. So he let the countdown go past 00 and then the magnetic thingy kicked in while Eko tried to blow up the hatch door to get in. Meanwhile, Desmond realizes that they have to push the button, but Locke breaks the computer. Desmond then uses his emergency key which he doesn't know what it will do and the hatch implodes. (which u found out on season3 episode 1) Also, on the other side Kate, Hurley, Sawyer, and Jack are caught by the Others & Michael is set free with his son on a boat. Sayid, Sun, and Jin are on Desmonds boat trying to meet up with Jack on the other side of the island, but no success. And that's how it ends.

well..you have your puter with you so..go to Lost.com and go into archives and read the season finale right there! I do that all the time when I have to miss an episode and it is a great write-up. Several main characters were captured by The Others and several more were involved in the implosion of the pit...that is all I will tell ya!
