LOL.....It's your turtle's poop. Just fish it out with a net before it breaks down and makes the water murky and dirty.

1. If the turtle was wild-caught it is almost certainly full of parasites. your vet can offr some tablets that will help with this.

2. If the water is getting bad that quickly, you have either a small tank or poor filtration or both. Turtles are really messy pets and demand large tanks (think 10 gallons of water per inch of turtle) and strong filtration (about twice as much as a fish tank takes).

3. It is also possible that the worms are coming from something else, like the rocks themselves. Take the turtles out for a while and clean the tank well with a bleach solution. Let the bleach stand for a while to kill germs and other things, then rinse it well. If possible, let things dry in stong sunshine.

if they're very tiny worms, sounds like your turtle has internal parasites.

Do you have a filtration system? I don't know too much about water chemistry... but the water getting cloudy is a natural part of the biological cycle of a healthy tank. If you fully clean it every week, then the entire cycle has to start from scratch every time. You really need a filter with chemical, mechanical and biological filtration... The biological filtration is usually accomplished with a sponge to provide a large surface area for benificial bacteria to grow...

turtles for thier best health need three seperate areas of water. One for feeding/drinking, one for defication, and one for basking/relaxation. yes, a HUGE tank. And in between these 3 seperate areas, land for basking. because most people cannot and do not provide these areas, things like this happen.

start cleaning. EVERYTHING. scrub, scrub, scrub. start brand new! clean and change the water in the tank at LEAST every other day, better yet daily

start cleaning,as somebody says for a turtle the water has to be changed every day, if you don't have a serious water filtering and replaceing system. The turtle excrement it's very harmfull for the animal,as its destroying hes shield, causing the turtle death.Check the shield with your nail gently, it should be hard. This for young turtles in special, but its alvailable for oldest too, which are not so sensitive.
