Is it possible that in attempt to free women from one standard, feminists can encaged them in another? Is it possible that in attempt to free women from past problems, feminists can entangle them in present and future problems? Is it possible that feminists could free women from the 'pressures of pleasing men', only to burden them with the pressures of pleasing feminists?

absoluetly positively ....yes,yes,yes. first, it was, we need to get out and have a career too. but now if we want to stay home and raise our kids, we feel like failures because we don't have a career.

Radical feminist ideas, are destroying the family. Look at all the divorce, and broken homes.

Radical feminist ideas just indoctrinate us with more bullcrap to make us feel inadequate when we can't do it all, be it all.

Anything that is good, to an extreme, can be bad, and this is another one of them.

No pressure, just more choices. I do think I see where you're coming from, though. You feel that feminists will look down on you, say, if you want to be a stay at home mom. Just keep in mind that the point of feminism is to give women more freedom and choices, not restrict them further. Be glad that, today, because of the feminist movement, you can decide between having a career or raising your family. Don't worry what anyone thinks about you. That's not the purpose behind feminism. By exercising your ability to choose, you're forwarding the cause of the movement. BTW, I consider myself a feminist, and I plan on staying home with my family. Feminists don't want us all to make the SAME choices, just to have those choices.

Totally, totally, totally. A male-ruled society set one set of rules for women. A strongly feminist society sets another. Those who say, "No, feminism is about *choice* and choice alone" haven't sat through a Women's Studies class.

I believe that women are more worried about what other women think than what any man thinks. Women are more critical of each other. Yep the pressure of being super- career-mum-wife is I think more difficult than anyone anticipated (& a terrible lie to feed us)

No. You're taught to stand on your own two feet. The decisions you make are your own. The things you take to heart, are what makes you who you are. If you're afraid of feminism, learn to understand it before you make your own decisions.

Feminism is a diverse collection of social theories, political movements and moral philosophies, largely motivated by or concerned with the experiences of women. Most feminists are especially concerned with social, political and economic inequality between men and women (in the context of it being to the disadvantage of women); some have argued that gendered and sexed identities, such as "man" and "woman", are socially constructed. Feminists differ over the sources of inequality, how to attain equality, and the extent to which gender and gender-based identities should be questioned and critiqued. In simple terms, feminism is the belief in social, political and economic equality of the sexes, and the movement organised around the belief that gender should not be the pre-determinant factor shaping a person's social identity, or socio-political or economic rights.

Feminist political activists commonly campaign on issues such as reproductive rights (including the right to safe, legal abortion, access to contraception and quality prenatal care), violence within a domestic partnership, maternity leave, equal pay, sexual harassment, street harassment, discrimination and rape. Many feminists today argue that feminism is a grass-roots movement that seeks to cross boundaries based on social class, race, culture and religion. They also argue that an effective feminist movement should be culturally specific and address issues relevant to the women of the society in question such as female genital cutting, or "clitorectomies", in Africa and the Middle East and the "glass ceiling" issue in developed economies. They also debate the extent to which certain issues such as rape, incest and mothering are universal. Themes explored in feminism include patriarchy, stereotyping, objectification, sexual objectification and oppression..

Everyone will have their set of rules, therefore one can and will be manipulated within that boundary to fit in. Only the individual can make this decision, and allow themselves to be manipulated.

People, men and women, can be over-emotional and manipulative. Human nature, really. Not gender nature.
