Why is so Important for All Americans, to learn Spanish and Assimilate to Latino-Cultures?

It is becoming important in a lot of jobs for people to know Spanish, but I wouldn't say all Americans should learn Spanish. And Hispanics/Latinos should assimilate to American culture, not the other way around.

You are right....immigrants are the ones that need to assimilate, just as the Germans, Irish, Polish, Italians and others have done for the last 150 years.....

You're the one coming here--for a reason, of course. Why not assimilate yourself to American culture and its common language rather than your inane insistence on bringing that which you're so desperately trying to escape here and forcing it on us?

Wake up, you are dreaming again. What is the dominant language of the world? I assume you know. Its ENGLISH! Why is that? Because apparently the world has decided that it is important to learn English. So, obviously the one who is in denial is you.

well, we don't, but it is a good idea to know a little spanish, especially in the south. i think it's more importat for all of these illegal mexicans who don't know english to learn it. if you come to our country, be willing to adjust, it's not mexico, and it's also one step closer to becoming a citizen if you do learn it.
