Which way should my ceiling fan be turning to push the warm air down? Clockwise or counterclockwise?

The fan can go both way, clockwise & counter clockwise...it just depends on the angle of the blades. if the slops are rightward down, then clockwise movement will push the warm air down. and if the slops are leftward down then the counterclockwise will be effective.

Depends on the direction the blades are angled. Healthy science experiment: smoke a big fat cigar under it and note if the acrid smoke is forced down or pulled up.

the way I bear in mind is "warmth up - quiet down." while i want to warmth up the room (in the time of the wintry climate) the fan might desire to be blowing up. If i want the room to quiet down(in the time of the summer season), the fan might desire to be blowing down.
