Though DisneyLand was the first theme park ever created, Walt Disney World in Florida is far better than DisneyLand in California. I like the comment that guy made, "DisneyLand could fit in the Disney World parking lot." It's true. DisneyLand consists of two theme parks- DisneyLand Park and Disney's California Adventure, Downtown Disney, and three hotels on property- the DisneyLand Hotel, the Paradise Pier Hotel, and Disney's Grand Floridian Hotel & Spa. On the other hand, Walt Disney World is really like its own world. There's four different theme parks- the Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, Disney-MGM Studios, and Disney's Animal Kingdom Park, plus there's two water parks- Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon (Blizzard Beach has the tallest and fastest free-fall body slide on the planet, while Typhoon Lagoon has one of the largest inland wave pools in the world.) There's also Downtown Disney with Pleasure Island, an AMC 24-Theatre Complex, Disney's Indoor Interactive Theme Park, and Cirque Du Soleil: La Nouba (which I highly recommend.) Compared to DisneyLand's three hotels, Walt Disney World has over 25 different RESORT options. There's also an incredible amount of recreation- five chamionship golf courses (the Funai tournament is hosted at the Palm & Magnolia golf courses there, I watched it on ESPN today,) there's two places to play mini golf- Fantasia Gardens and Winter Summerland, there's guided fishing excursions, fireworks cruises, boat rentals, horseback riding, wagon rides at the Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground, carriage rides at Port Orleans Resort, backstage theme park tours (this summer I took a tour of EPCOT where everyone got to go scuba diving in the aquarium with the sharks, stingrays, and other fish. It was awesome!,) everything you could imagine. You could stay at Walt Disney World for a month or more, and really never get bored or run out of things to do. It's such an amazing place, and there's something for everyone. If the parents want to go out for the night, there's clubs at each of the resorts for children to stay and play at. Parents can go out for a romantic cruise or dinner. During the day, the men can go play golf or fish while the ladies relax at Disney's Grand Floridian Spa or the Spa at Disney's Saratoga Springs Resort. And don't forget, there's over 100 fabulous restaurants on property. You'll have the greatest food of your life there!
Another thing, Walt Disney World is the number one vacation destination in the world, so you kind of have to assume it's the best.

Definitely Florida. I have been to CA's Disneyland and it was great to see where it all began. However, it was to much of an amusement park to me whereas Disney World in Florida has more of the true theme park feel.
Furthermore, Disney World in Florida has far more to offer than Disneyland. Unless you go to both, you really can't appreciate how much larger Disney World is. It's gigantic with so much to see and offer. I've been 10 or 12 times I think... lost count! I've stayed at several of the resorts (Contemporary, Grand Floridan, etc) and they are ALL amazing and beautiful. They are vacations just in themselves. Then to be able to visit four theme parks (never mind the water parks and downtown Disney, etc) there is just so much more to see and do in Florida.
As for crowds... I went to Disney Land in July (about 13 yrs ago.. so it's been a while) and it was nice weather but CROWDED and irritating. I'm in the North East so I enjoy going to Disney World in the winter time (January, especially). But I have been in late October, mid-November, early-mid January and early February. I have never really had a major problem with crowds. I went in mid-January last year and the crowds were not bad at all. It's all about timing. If you stay at a resort on Disney property that requires bus transporation to all four theme parks then I am sure it can get a bit cumbersome (but worth it). If you stay at one of the three resorts connected to the monorail system then it's more convenient as you can travel a bit easier and make quick transfers through the Transporation and Ticket Center. So it's really pretty convenient and the crowds are not bad if you plan to go at a time that has the lowest attendance.

Welp its Disneyland in Anaheim but it depends o the experiance you're looking for. Disney World is considerably bigger and considerably busier (still worth the money keep in mind four people, two adults and two children, run an average cost of $10,000 for a trip to WDW in Florida including airfare accomadations, food, souvenirs, etc.) Disneyland is the traditonal Disney experiance and is usually much less busy but still can be done in less than a week. Walt Disney World I suggest at least a week and look for deals on legitimate parkhopper tickets with a water park package.

Disneyland in Cali can fit inside DisnryWorlds parking lot. Go to Florida for sure. My family of 5 went there and only spent about 4,000. We drove instead of flew. We got a nice room for little money (there are so many, go to hotels.com) we had a room with a kitchenette so we did some grociery shopping instead of eating out everyday and we never ate inside Disney. You need atleast 4 days to see the parks there and even then you wont see it all. You can also go on these timeshare demos for 2 hours and after that they will give you 2 free tickets...yes they suck but if you can sit through them and then say "NO" after your done..BAM you have 2 free tickets to disney. Or, like I did, I already had my tickets bought so they gave me 80 dollars cash.

well, really, it depends on your budget, your vacation duration, your stamina, and what you want. If you want to have a nice family-fun thing, go to Disneyland. Although, as some other person artfully noted "Disneyland fits inside Disneyworld's parking lot," it is a whole lot more familiy-oriented, cheaper, and fun for the family. It's also a great place to go with your GF or distant relatives. However, if you have about 10 or 15 K and about a week to blow, go to DisneyWorld. It is huge, has way better rides, and is well known. Unfortunately, it is much more crowded, with enormous lines, expensive food, and will often cause soreness in the legs. Still, it is a great way to unwind. So really, it depends on what you want.
