Anyone? Any ideas are appreciated, no matter how vague or specific they are. I have ideas of my own, I just want to explore more so I can get the best idea I can of what I want to write a novel about. I just want to see if other's ideas might spark something in my own mind that will really get me going. Thanks so much for any help,

Kiara

Reconsider my career choice? Sorry..I think I came across wrong..I apologize for that..I'm 14, I'm just looking for ideas...I don't want to write as a full-time profession when i get older, but I would like to publish a book one day. i have to start somewhere don't i? this is the first novel i've ever really planned to go forth with.

The best novels I've read are about women and their struggles overcome obstacles. I find them especially interesting when they are set in the past. I read a very good novel set during the war, it was all about the relationships between a group of women, and how they coped with their new roles.
Another subject I find very interesting is medicine - again, you can get the topic of women and power in to that, juggling work and home and trying to make it in a 'mans world'.
I'd also be interested to read a novel about inter-religious relationships, I've not seen that done before.
I like novels that span several generations, and focus on a group of 6 to 8 characters, and their interwoven relationships.

Reading your additional details i would say you're at the perfect age to start a proper, well written diary, especially as you're passionate about writing.
This could turn out to be a fabulous source of ideas for years to come, who knows? you could even publish it in it's entirety one day. Good luck.

I don't understand why you are asking this. Surely if you want to be an author you need to have a passion about it, and not use other peoples stories to make your success- that is called journalism.

Being an author and getting published is hard enough for someone 100% dedicated and with the skill and ideas all themselves, it would be impossible for someone who just wants to be an author for the hell of it and wants to use someone elses idea to make some money.

I think you need to reconsider your career choice and think for yourself.

Please don't talk about Jesus or religion. Write about peace or better, write a history who tells how USA will finished.
