A guy I work with is all over this team's nuts. He says they're the "Real Deal" and that they're gonna be this year's George Mason. So I have a 2 part question:

Has anyone out there actually heard of Marist?

And...Will they be good this season?

Yes, they will have a great season. They return four starters from a team that finished 12-6 in the MAAC (after an 0-4 start), good for third place. The Red Foxes are only losing 10% of their scoring and nearly 13% of their rebounding from last season's squad. They had eight guys average over 10 minutes a game last year, meaning they have good depth. Four guys, the returning four starters, averaged over 10 points a game, led by reigning MAAC player of the year Jared Jordan (16.1 ppg and last year's NCAA leader in assists). Marist was 4th in the nation in effective shooting percentage and 5th in offensive efficiency, which pretty much means that they can fill the bucket against anyone. Their only main problem is that their D leaves a little to be desired. However, this team's core has played enough basketball together that they have become one. The four seniors have progressed from a 6-22 record (4-14 MAAC) as freshmen to 11-17 (8-10) as sophomores and last season's 19-10 (12-6). Bottom line is that the entire team has drop jaw offensive ability and the McCann Field House will be rocking in late February when they sew up an 18-0 league record... After watching George Mason last year, a magical run and a Final Four isn't out of the question if Marist hustles on defense.

Oh yeah, the volleyball team is hot, too.

Wait a second, isn't that the college that has a HOT volleyball team? Yea I like them. I bet the basketball team will blow, especially when they come into Iona territory. I doubt they can score a point on Manhatten either. And dont forget about Niagra and Loyola MD. The MAAAAAAAC is a tough conference, so tell your body to be carefull.

Best of luck to your boy. (Loser)
