My son makes straight A's except for Language Arts! He just cannot understand and gets a C. Can anyone help me with any ideas?

He loves reading! thats not the problem ...he actually has a A in Reading. Language Arts is like English....with nouns, verbs...stuff like that.

Boys tend to develop language skills later in life than girls. Also, they often aren't interested in whatever books the school has on its curriculum. I've had success using comic books and graphic novels. Many of them are high quality with a large range of vocabulary. They appeal to boys who are generally more visual learners and who might reject more conventional types of literature.

Contact his teacher and see what the issues are then try to work with him on them at home. It is also possible he might need a smaller group setting for that subject or more 1:1 attention from the teacher or an aide. But for the answer you really need to talk with the teacher in question.

Chances are he just do not like Language. Most boys do not.
Speak to the teacher and see if you could get him some games and all that kinda stuff to get him to like reading.
