Every baby is different.
My Mom says I never crawled at all, I just wiggled and rolled.
My daughter started crawling at 8-months (after seeing one of her little friends doing it and getting to toys that SHE wanted!!) She still does it when she has to, but she prefers walking now 2 months later!!
If your baby is hitting most of the other suggested milestones then I wouldn't worry at all.
I really like the milestone charts at BabyCentre for seeing how my daughter is measuring up. (http://www.babycenter.com/general/baby/babydevelopment/6477.html) She's way ahead on some things and a bit behind on others so it gives me an idea what to try to help her with.
Have fun!!

I dont think that it is a big problem to worry about. Just because a baby doesnt start doing things at the same rate as most babies doesnt mean that there is anything wrong with them. My niece didnt start crawling till she was about a year old, but it didnt take her long to walk once she started crawling. Now she is 4 and her pronounciation isn't that great, but we just work with her on the things that are difficult for her. Be patient and see what happens. A baby will do things as they are ready.

There could be but I bet there isn't. My first two didn't crawl till 11 months and my 3rd didn't crawl until 14 months, and didn't walk till 18 1/2 months, and she's fine now. So don't sweat it and enjoy not having to chase her/him all over the place for a while yet!

According to my mother-in-law, my husband skipped crawling altogether. My three older children skipped crawling until after they had started walking. Our daughter is almost 9 months old, has been pulling herself to stand for a couple of months now and is has been cruising for the last few weeks. She just started crawling last week.
All babies develop at different rates, though there is a general time line for growth and development. Your little one will be scooting around, one way or another, in no time!

My girls were 8 1/2 and 9 months old when they started crawling and both walked before their first birthday. Don't fret. With our first daughter, my husband and I were certain she would roll to high school because she wouldn't crawl. She finally started crawling and then took off walking soon after. It'll happen...or not...they might just start walking. Take care!

8 mths and not crawling... no worries! Some dont crawl until much later, some not at all and go straight to walking. You can 'help' by putting toys just out of reach and seeing if your baby will go for it. Mine was so good at rolling to get where she wanted she was at least 9 mths before I saw her trying to crawl. Just enjoy this while it lasts because once they start crawling, watch out!!

I read that the average newborn won't start crawling until about 9 months because babies now adays don't get enough tummy time. Few even never crawl and go right into walking. All babies develop at different stages...each to his own. Don't worry about it. It'll happen when he/she is ready. In the mean time...give the baby lots of tummy time and perhaps a little motivation. Move a toy just barely of his./her reach and make her get it on her own. Best of luck!

I doubt it. All babies are so different. My youngest sister decided she was not going to crawl. She was ten months old and everyone was freaking out because she wasnt crawling. Then one day, she stood up and started walking. So she never crawled. I wouldnt worry about it.
And my nephew didnt crawl, exactly. He scooted everywhere. Sat on his butt and scooted across the floor.
It looks as if my son (three months) is going to be one of those that wiggle to where they want to be. He will do that when you are sitting next to him and he is on his stomach. He just kicks his feet until he finally gets to you, lol.
I seriously wouldnt worry about it. If he is healthy otherwise, just be patient. I sure wouldnt want to rush things. Soon you'll be chasing him all over the house and won't be able to sit down for a minute. Enjoy the stillness while it lasts.

Every child develops differently. Your child could go from not crawling to walking!! Seen it happen many a time.
Don't stress out about it, your baby will do what he/she feels like doing in their own time. If you want to help out, you can put a small toy just out of reach while they are on their tummy on the floor. They will stretch for it, and just before they grab it, move it a wee bit more out of the way. I did that to my son, and he went crawling in no time!! He had been kind of trying, I just thought I'd help him! It worked!!

My daughter started walking at 8 months, she didnt crawl at all.
Some babies skip the crawling stage alltogether and go straight to walking. And some babies crawl so well, that they walk later, because they dont try as hard to walk, since they already have a way of getting around.
So dont worry, and dont be surprised when she starts walking!
