I was a poor kid and had no money, but got my first car by working odd jobs and buying a fixer-upper. The best assistance anyone can give you is to simply show you the way to earning things yourself. If you don't then you develop a "welfare" mentality and expect everything to be given to you. Find an old car parked in someones yard and ask them if there is work that they need done towards the purchase of the car. If it needs work, figure out how to do it and fix it. By learning these things I have been successful at everything I have ever tried. I have never expected to get something for nothing and as a result have never been in trouble or bankrupt. I paid for everything including my education by working. I have an MBA, drive a new Mercedes, and live in a large beautiful home on a private lake as a result of this philosophy. And you cannot blame it on "luck" because most of my siblings have had the same ethic and have prospered. The ones that wanted things given to them are still trying to figure it out.

You can have my car for free. I moved & I couldn't bring it with me to NYC. It's down in New Orleans, & no one is driving it. It's still fairly new, & I'm serious about this.
