For an American penny:
1 penny = 2.5 grams
The weight of the earth is 5.972 sextilltion tons, or 5.972E21 tons!
Now find how many pennies that would weight:
(5.972E21 tons)*(2000 lbs/1 ton)(453.6 g/1 lb)(1 penny/2.5g)
Thus, it would take 2.17x10^27 pennies to be equivalent to the mass of earth.
Therefore, that would be 2.17x10^25 dollars!!!
= $2,170,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000
That's a lot of money =P
Hope this helps

1) I found in wikipedia that American penny has a mass of 2.5 grames (I assume you live in U.S.)
Hence:
Earth mass = 5.9742×10^24 kg
penny mass = 2.5 g = 0.0025 kg =also equal to 1 cent
2) We can compute number of pennies that equals Earth's mass:
N (pennies) = 5.9742x10^24 / 0.0025 kg = 2.389 x 10^27 pennies
3) As we know that each penny is 1/100 of dollar then:
2.389 x10^27 pennies / 100 = 2.389 x 10^25 dollars
which is equivalent to 23.89 heptillion dollars (a lot of money!!!)
The gross domestic product (GDP) of U.S. is about 13.05 trillions of dollars (in 2006), so the above amount is equal to 1.83 trillion times the GDP !!
Good luck!

Mass of Earth is 5.973*10^27, now don't get lazy to get weight of penny and make simple calculations. If you need unit converter, then use
http://www.digitaldutch.com/unitconverter
Interesting question (when i'll have pennies, i'll try to solve this by myself :)
