No they were awesome when they were together. The blame can be put on Axel Rose as his head decided to get bigger and he wanted to control everything. Music was fantastic.

When Appetite For Destruction was released in 1987, It was what the music scene so desperately needed. A gritty, colorful and loud respite from all the gay mucky muck that dominated the airwaves. Lies was also a good follow up. Sure, the Use Your Illusion albums contained a lot of filler, but also an unmistakeable trademark sound that all but defined early 90's metal. Everyone gets kooky after too much time in the spotlight, and W. Axl Rose is no exception. Nevertheless, Appetite is a bona fide, essential classic and therefore G'nF'n'R is definitely not crap.

Depends what kind of music you like, if you are into classical music, then yes, you are probably going to think Guns n Roses are crap, if you live for 80's hair bands then you are probably going to love them! Personally I have a thing for alot of music that came out of the 80's and I like them.

No, they are a great band...their music was solid, but in time Axl decided to go crazy and braid his hair...and the rest is history.
