I got divorced couple of years ago . I have been trying to build a friend circle in real life as well as on the internet . Somehow, Why do these friendships not last? Some men I talk to say they are busy busy and never call back. I'm not sure if I hurt people with words or I take them for granted. I know that I sometimes pass some remarks which I assume will not hurt people. But one never knows, it could hurt sensitive people.

What should I do to make good male friends? I would like change this image and be a good person without hurting people and have some really good friends forever. Is there a way to make up with friends I lost??

For eg: There was a friend who kept saying this week is busy and next week I will be free. He said this for 3-4 weeks. When he said the 5th time. I said "Hey you have been saying this for over a month now" I was being direct.

No one likes a smart ***. You can make more friends with your ears than with your mouth.

Do not try to make male friends only. If you try to make friends of both genders, then both genders will like you as a friend.

As for making up with friends you've lost, this has happened to me before. A good friend of three years just decided heck, I don't want to be Shanna's good friend anymore. It broke my heart, but life still went on. Then, when the new year started, we started talking again casually, and now I think we're pretty good friends again. Just stop trying to be friends so hard. It'll all turn out good in the end.

why dont u try to get some feedback about your behaviour while u are in a relationship (before they leave)? try to listen more carefully to the other person, listen to his reactions, how he reacts to u and at specific behaviours, this way u will learn what effects your behaviour has on other people. or ask him directly if there is anything that bothers him.

2 other issues to take into account, u may try too hard at the point u push people too much and they just leave, or u are so insecure that u create a self-fulfilling prophecy.

try to be more respectful and open with others, trying to be perfect is just too tiring, cool down a bit, it is more fun believe me, it is ok if we make mistakes :)

First you have to like yourself! I'm wondering if you like yourself! Pray and ask God to show you what it is that you maybe saying that turns people away. You might be still hurting and taking it out on others. Join a dance, exercise, or cooking class. Do something where you can be around people and get to open up so that they can see who you really are. I know that everybody needs somebody. We were made that way! Start with Prayers! God hears all prayers if you believe He does! Have Faith!!!!!!!!!

What stuff do you say? Maybe you should be more conscience of their feelings and think before you say anything! And why only guy friends? As for the making up part maybe you should try just talking to them, and asking them to forgive you if you did hurt them in any way.

I don't know you or the circumstances so I can't say for sure. Although you want to be kind, don't let people step all over you and be true to yourself. You will find true friends that way. Treat them how you would like to be treated.

Just be yourself!! There will always be people who dont like you...but their not worth your time anyways... You will eventually find someone that you are comfortable around and that likes u for u. that is a true friend..."Cause it's better to be hated for who you are than be loved for who your not..."
