You can view your house by downloading a software from google.
First go to googleearth.com then download the software which is suitable for your system configuration.The software is free for download.Then install the software and enter the country,city which you want to see.For all this you need to have your internet connection on.And for better viewing of the place you need to have a video accelerator which will enhace the viewing.Best of luck with you locating your house.It will be easy to locate your house provided you have a video accelerator.

Though there are enough answers here, i would like to suggest another website that you could use. www.wikimapia.com This does use the same technmology as that of google maps.
The best in terms of technology is obviously google earth for which you would be required to download the software.

try going to google earth and download the free version of google earth it will hardly take 25 minutes to download.after downloading install the application.after opening google earth type your address and click on search on the left pane.you can view any image of any place on the earth in just blink of a second. :-)

try http://maps.google.com and search for you address and then on the right hand site you should have 3 options map, satalite, hybrid. Or you can download the free program called google earth which is photos of most of the world and simply search for you address

It will give you satellite images...they are a old however you will be able to find your locality....you can try google earth too...however i dont know houwmuch sucessful it is.....both are same i belive..
