Homework, hang out with friends a little, worked part time, & practiced piano 4 - 6 hours per day. Also taught lessons three days per week.

We had to find things to do on our own and most of us were very good at it too. Can you imagine not having a TV, hand-held games, arcades, or computers? We went on bike rides almost daily, and yes some even rode their bikes to and from school too. Most of us had to earn our spending money doing odd jobs such as mowing grass, shoveling snow, or gathering soda bottles and taking them to a store for the refund of them. My allowance was 15 cents. Enough for a Saturday movie and a candy bar or popcorn. Was a luxury if you saved an extra nickle to be able to have a soda pop too. We never had the luxury to run to mom or dad and say.."what can I do today" and have them dig in their pockets or purse and hand you some money just to get you out of their hair. Nope... we had to think for ourselves and you know what? I loved every minute of it and learned that you get what you earn and enjoy it twice as much rather then someone else giving it to you. We lived life and enjoyed it back then. Today kids have so much to do and still don't know what to do. They don't know how. We did.

Last year when I was a teenager i wished i was older. now I am older and life is the same as when I was a teenager.

well i still am for two more months but i know as a younger teen i was bad and rude but thankfully i have grown out of it and into a responsible college student
