When the Saudis decided to fund Wahabism.
Any literal interpretation of religious text will result in the development and promulgation of extremism.
Currently, the extreme Wahabism is adversely affecting today's world culture.

You mean from a historical perspective rather than a personal one? That's so difficult, because you don't know if an attempt to make a change for the better could end up being even worse. Like, it's easy to say, oh, I'd kill Hitler in WWI so he'd never come to power and WWII and the Holocaust would never happen. But you don't know that. Maybe someone even more horrible would come to power in Germany in the 30's, one who wouldn't be stupid enough to fight a war on two fronts, who would have worked harder on developing the atomic bomb, etc. And then, as impossible as it is to imagine, the world would have been even worse off.

Historically or personally?
Personally, I wouldnt change anything about my life. If I change something in the past, I wouldnt be where I am at today. So - all the good, and all the bad, was necessary for me to reach this point. This point I am at now might not be everyone's dream, but I am much better off than many many people. And I never forget that...
Historically, Id change the day Bush got elected. How would that change society? Well, we wouldnt be spending $1BILLION dollars every 3.5 days in Iraq for one....many lives saved....

I would change the July 7th London bombings. If I was American of course it would be September 11th but I am English.

well i would change moments in 1914 (WWI) and 1939 (WWII), but the whole world would be very different today and most of us would probably be children of different parents etc..
Everything would be very, very different from today.
There is another million things I would gladly change in the past.
