He could have learned it from a previous relationship. His parents might be a factor in that idea. He also could have picked it up from his friends. Or it could have been his own thought. It could be many things. Talk to him. Let him know in a clam voice what you think makes a good husband and ask him what he thinks makes up a good wife. A good marriage had understanding, love and communication. Tell him how you feel! It is the best thing to do, then you won't have to scream. Also then you both will have a better understanding of each other and what the other thinks. Good luck!

That is a point on being part of a good husband. Other things is help you when you need help. When things are going badly or you had a busy day at work he is suppose to pick up you slack. And you should do the same for him when he need help that is what makes a good husband and wife.

I was a good husband to a fault!! & its to long a story to go into.
I gave my undeserving wife the sack!
Even her family know that she messed up for the 3rd time & let a diamond fall through her fingers, thats why they no loner have anything to do with her YET wll be @ mine & my soulmates wedding next year.
To be a good husband, yeah its good that he,s faithful & that you know were he is of an evening BUT................
Do you help her out around the home 50%?
Do you cook & nice meal for her?
Do you arrange nice suprises for her?
Do you pour her a glass of champagne for NO reason @ all?
Do you wisk her off to a hotel & have a weekend of frenzied passionate sex on the spur of the moment?
Do you treat her as your equal & your best friend?
Do you enjoy her company & tell her so?
IF you or YOUR WIFE answer NO to any or all of these then make amends

The Definition of Husband:
Main Entry: 1hus·band
Pronunciation: 'h&z-b&nd
Function: noun
Etymology: Middle English husbonde, from Old English husbonda master of a house, from Old Norse husbOndi, from hus house + bOndi householder; akin to Old Norse bua to inhabit; akin to Old English buan to dwell -- more at BOWER
1 : a male partner in a marriage
2 British : MANAGER, STEWARD
3 : a frugal manager
- hus·band·ly adjective
5 : one who actively directs affairs : MANAGER
So therefore you can conclude that a good husband is one that actively directs the affairs in his household. Being there at night would be a start. However, there are many affairs in a household to be directed. So, to say that one is a good husband because he is there at night is not completely accurate.

No.... That just makes him a husband who doesn't run around and is home at night! A good husband is one who doesn't have to defend the fact that he is a good husband. It should be obvious to all those around him including (but not limited to) you, your children, your friends, your neighbors and anyone on the street who happens to witness anything that the two of you do together.

He learns it from women - what's most women's complaints - he runs the streets with his boys and he's running around. So yeah to a lot of men they feel like they're one up or ahead of the game, if they don't do that stuff. It of course, takes much more than that to make a "good" husband, but most women I know would be content with that, considering what's out here now.

This is not a question but if your husband shows you respect and stay out of trouble ie running the town and staying out all night then I would say he is a good husband

Those are only two ingrediants to being a ggod husband. Not running around, being home at night is great unless you just sit infront of the tv or computer all night and do nothing else.
