Transformers was a terrible cartoon. Its sole purpose was to sell toys.

I don't think it can possibly compare with the original. The original film has a fantastic cast:
- Eric Idle
- Leonard Nimoy
- Orson Wells
And many more great acting tallents.
The only way I would watch the new one is if it features Patrick Stewart, Morghan Freeman or Christopher Lee.

should be good, its directed by the guy who did bad boys 2 and made by the people who do the citroen advert i think, so it will look good and i know that a lot of fans have been surveyed to see what they would like in the film, so it hopefully wont ruin the memory of a classic cartoon.

not sure... i used to love transformers when i was a kid, and was really jealous when my bro got transformers toys and an optimus prime t-shirt... i was stuck with teddy bears! i used to love the cartoon, so i hope hollywood stay true to the cartoon and not mess it up (but who knows when you are talking about mega-bucks?)

I have seen a couple of the teaser trailers that they have available, and I think it is gonna be a great movie, only because of the possiblities we have now to use excellent CGI
